Hello! I'm an artist, writer, and game developer. I work for @7thBeatGames on "A Dance of Fire and Ice" and "Rhythm Doctor."

I run @IndieGamesofCohost where I share screenshots and spotlights of indie games. I also interview devs here on Cohost.
Your mileage is definitely gonna vary, I've seen a wide spectrum of different opinions, although most people love it I think. If you're down to play something that's very very Chrono Trigger [with timing minigames for the attacks] then I think it's a good choice! The art is absolutely beautiful and the music is great.
If engaging writing is one of your top priorities for an RPG.....i feel like "Chained Echoes" might be a little closer, or a game that at least goes more off the beaten path like a "Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass".
There are some choices in Sea of Stars that are baffling to me, although most of them are writing-related rather than gameplay or art.
If you're the type of person who's itching to try every "indie JRPG" out there, it's definitely worth checking out and it's very high quality.
