Your mileage is definitely gonna vary, I've seen a wide spectrum of different opinions, although most people love it I think. If you're down to play something that's very very Chrono Trigger [with timing minigames for the attacks] then I think it's a good choice! The art is absolutely beautiful and the music is great.

If engaging writing is one of your top priorities for an RPG.....i feel like "Chained Echoes" might be a little closer, or a game that at least goes more off the beaten path like a "Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass".

There are some choices in Sea of Stars that are baffling to me, although most of them are writing-related rather than gameplay or art.
