Listening to the Smash Ultimate soundtrack [specifically the new arrangements] and man I really disagree with Sakurai's insistence that all arrangements needed to be high-energy battle songs.
I feel like some of these songs just don't really work when you bend them like that.
I think it makese sense when you remember its for matches that may only last a minute or two or 3 minutes at most. Would be nice to have the option for normal song and the rearranged song which well you kidna do half the time
I get that, but this was a policy he put into place after Brawl. In Brawl there were "unfitting" peaceful songs but I really liked it. It was surreal and interesting to fight to a really peaceful song, in the same way that a film director may score an action scene with contrasting music.
