Because I'm a somewhat self-conscious person, I'm always worried that people are dissatisfied with my activity on @IndieGamesofCohost or have qualms with the account. I don't know why, lol.
But anyway, to get it off my chest, here's some 2024 housekeeping that might address questions:
- In an effort to make it easier for me to keep up with, I've temporarily dropped the "monthly recap" posts. So I can focus on just being active. Might come back to it later.
- I'm aware that I have a few biases in what I share: By default nearly every "new release" that I highlight is on Steam, which isn't reflective of indie game dev as a whole. I want to swing a little more towards itchio in the future, but Steam will be the default for now because it's easiest to find things that are new and that I think people would enjoy playing.
- I'm also a human person so I have biases in terms of genre and art style. Trying my best to get better and not flood the page with only games that I personally find interesting.
- I'm aware the interviews have slowed down. I actually have a list of people I want to interview, the thing slowing me down is wanting to have good questions to ask each person specifically. Artist Alley actually makes it 10x easier to find devs, which is great. If you're a dev, having an easy way to find your email address or a way to privately contact you would be a huge help.
- I would be open to the idea of finding a volunteer to help me run the page.
- Apologies if I've ever shared a game that you don't deem as "indie enough", I don't really have a criteria for what counts as indie or AA.
- I'm...sometimes unsure what I should do about the high volume of posts on here I see about advertising Patreons, kofis, asking for emergency money, etc. I don't want to flood people's timelines with every single ask for help from a gamedev, but also I'm leaning towards sharing more of them in the effort of helping.
- I'm not asssociated with Cohost at all, and hope they're chill with the fact that I used it in the name. It's named that way bc it interviews and shares game devs who are on Cohost.
- Thanks for following the account and thanks for reading this!
