World of Horror - This likely needs no introduction. A turn-based, blood-soaked love letter to Junji Ito and Japanese horror.

TAMASHII - Horror platformer with creative puzzles and amazing art. Seriously, look at it. I adore this game.

Anatomy - Fantastic lil gem about a house. I can't say more, nor can I recommend it enough. I play it every year.

Home Sweet Home - Thai horror which takes place in some very spooky urban locations. Great enemy designs and sound work.

Pamali - Indonesian horror, episodic. First episode (The White Lady) is the strongest, imo. Dripping with atmosphere.

Dead End Road - Low-fi horror driving game with good replayability. Unique.

Aka Manto - Low-fi Japanese horror with some quality scares and a decidedly retro aesthetic. Other releases from this dev are also worth checking out, especially Stigmatized Property.

Interior Worlds is my #1. the only take on "liminal space" horror that's really done much for me. this is a very subtle horror game about wandering around nostalgic and liminal spaces and taking photographs, and the mild horror elements connected in a way that i haven't stopped thinking about them in years. sodaraptor's Hypnagogia 無限の夢 Boundless Dreams also has some really good horror levels, although it's not primarily a horror game.

i also highly recommend everything Modus Interactive has made. like sodaraptor, Modus makes atmospheric walk-sim type horror games with unique and extremely powerful moods. their paid game Sanguine Sanctum is a fully fleshed out, solid hit, but some of their free, smaller games, like An Empty House, An Empty Castle: Laputa, and Iketsuki are among the most memorable experiences i've had in games, period

I've played Pumpkin Panic a bunch and it's really really fun!

I also really love Dear Substance of Kin it has fantastic world-building for such a short little game.

And all of Octavi Navarro's Midnight Scene games are great!
