the US federal government should make a twitter clone for government agencies to disseminate information with because i genuinely think a lot of agencies forgot how to communicate with the public without twitter, and you can’t fucking read feeds anymore

"third party anti-cheat kernel driver" should strike the same kind of fear in you as "debug port left exposed" or "default root telnet password"

there should be no business sense for MS to sign these; they should not be signed, signing them should result in fines and sanctions, and the OS already doesn't load unsigned kernel drivers.

this shit should, honestly, be illegal through and through.

I can only imagine how much restraint it took to wait for this tournament while knowing you have this and it could possibly get patched at some point, either you end up with nothing or you get the funniest possible way to show off a hack

edit: you're wasting your time asking for security advice for software I don't use, I can't help you

They were fundamentally different problems1 but when Miraheze put out a notice that they desparately needed help and would otherwise have to shut down completely2, they found that they had curated a community that was both able and willing to help. Nine months later as of today, they're doing great and shutting down is no longer3 a possibility. If Elon Musk or Fandom Wikia had to make a plea like that, they'd get within a rounding error of sweet fuck all. At the end of the day there's a lot of people who want spaces like these and a significant proportion who will actively contribute to help it happen.

1- tldr the financials were fine, but due to some personal drama, half the volunteers running the place up and left. whatever it was that happened appears to have gotten patched over and they're mostly all back now but that's besides the point

2- another similarity- in the same way that Cohost is [seen by its users as] the only non-awful social media site, Miraheze is the only significant non-Fandom-Wikia public wiki farm.

3- in the forseeable future at least
