"If my professional rivals can't compete in our chosen arena, they aren't worth thinking about. Having said that, speaking practically, I do face certain concrete physical threats, not only from incensed so-called colleagues, but from parties who, for one reason or another, endeavor to return me to my custom-fitted storage container.
"Putting aside the power of my intimate friends to dissuade any such action against me-- we're discussing those who cannot be dissuaded, and of course I really don't care to lean upon my associations more than is absolutely necessary --and without giving too much away of my security particulars, I rely upon the usual methods employed by terminally divisive and sickeningly wealthy individuals around the world, but with a twist: I am the security system. By virtue of my hybrid organic/cybernetic neurology, I inhabit the terrain around me; anything that's wired up might be subject to my immediate will. I see everything, and I can anticipate, calculate... I run statistical projections on who's most likely to take a run at me next, and I am not a little paranoid. That smart home doesn't sound like such a good idea now, does it?"
