you see, the trick i learned from twitter is that you don't quote tweet someone with a bad take. you don't reply to them, you don't boost them to your timeline, because that's what they want, to get their hatred in front of your followerbase to either convert them or scare them.
you don't signal boost the bad take, you ignore it and, if you desperately want to respond to something in it, you make your own post and talk past it. put out the fire by starving it of air.
accurate post and have been thinking i could do better to work within that framework than i have been! i probably should've adopted this strategy to begin with lol, i guess i'm used to being able to counter bad faith arguments in other isolated online spaces more directly but that doesn't work for public social media spaces like this. nevertheless, shouldn't have boosted those takes earlier and this is the approach i will be taking going forward
