i'm not watching x-men 97 but the fact that they said morph was nonbinary in press interviews but clarified that it wouldn't be referenced in the show because "nonbinary identity and they/them pronouns weren't widely known about at the time of the original show" is so stupid. if they actually wanted to be accurate to the original show's writing and the time it came from they would have actively chosen to write the cheesiest least sensitive but theoretically well-meaning episode of all time where wolverine isn't accepting of morph coming out as nonbinary and joins an anti-trans movement until he discovers an evil plot within it that targets mutants and both of them beat up the supervillain together. spider-man is also there
