yingletposting: fun! cool! kinda obnoxious because now half my feed is just injokes that i don't understand and thus can't engage with, but whatever! that's a personal annoyance, not something i can truly be mad at!

the typing quirk stuff is an accessibility issue for me though. it's like trying to read a iece of ext with several etters issing from it. i know the missing letters are all supposed to be Ts, but my brain still spends a lot of effort trying to fill them in anyways. really not fun.

i wouldn't mind it that much if it was all under one tag that i could fully mute. a lot of the posts about it are tagged properly, which is great. but i've seen some people adapt just the typing quirk stuff for their regular posts and i can't filter those out. it makes me unable to engage as easily with what some people are posting and it also makes me not want to share them in case others would have the same issue. and i hate that.

can everyone doing the typing quirk stuff please tag their posts or quit doing it or at least provide an accessible way of reading them, thanks

i do not want to use a goddamn browser addon to make these posts readable

i browse cohost on my phone like 50% of the time. like, okay, so you just want a part of the site to be permanently inaccessible to some users half the time? is that really what you want?

make your posts accessible. please.

[t]he extension also works on mobile firefox! it's [t]he best solution we've found and it's a lot more [t]han just a typing quirk for me, it's my main source of species euphoria. also you can block me or silence me, i won't be mad

seriously though is "your" euphoria worth the distress of many others? that's what gets me about the way they try to defend this. it's like they are going out of their way to upset other people and think it's a good thing

i wrote a post about this but i scrapped it because i don't want my profile to be full of just complaining about yinglets... but like, yeah.

maybe i get species euphoria from randomly biting people. that doesn't mean i am going around randomly biting people. there's plenty of aspects therians borrow from the human experience already, whether it's out of safety or convenience; if one is really that committed to being their species, they should just stop typing and log off. right? but it's accepted that some of these things are beneficial to have. and that's okay. you're not any less of your species if you have to concede things to make your life or those of others any easier.

i don't know why asking people to tag their typing quirks at the very least or find workarounds for them is apparently so offensive that it warrants an immediate block. i'm not uhhh therianphobic. heck, i'm technically one myself. i'm not disrespecting anyone's species by asking them to stop using the typing quirk. yes, sure, it may be impeding on how much you come across as your species, but there's 20,000 other things we all do already that are similarly impeding on it which we all take for granted. so then why is this one single thing seemingly so hard to change?

(granted, afaik yinglets are capable of speaking English and using a computer, so this all may not apply to them as much, but still. you get the idea.)

i get really irritated when accessibility concerns are treated like they're not a big deal bc there's a browser extension that resolves the issue.

some disabled ppl use this site on their phones. i imagine some might not have access to a computer at all and exclusively use a phone or tablet to use the site.

i wish i didn't feel like i have to mute ppl who yingletpost, but it hurts my brain to read and they simply do not tag their posts, even (especially) on informative posts meant for a general audience.
