Really love this latest rash of "we know your browsing history and have been watching you through your webcam, send us bitcoin or else" scam emails that include my name, home address, phone number, and a picture of my house.
Which is extra interesting, because the cropped Google Street View pictures aren't my house. I don't have a house. I live in an apartment complex. I also don't have a webcam connected to my PC.
America: Where three credit companies will admit they did a little whoopsie goof four years ago when all your personal information was stolen from their database that stores everything in plain text, and are just telling you about it now, and also they investigated themselves and, actually, they did nothing wrong. But also if you swipe your credit card the wrong way you'll be financially ruined.
Anyways, 404 Media wrote about the latest wave of these scam emails.
