Getting it back out again is...problematic. The inner butt goes pretty far/deep and trying to get something out might push it in deeper. There's at least one maker that makes eggs with retrieval cords, which is safe-R but not fully safe. Also the larger sizes uses actual chains, which I don't think would feel very good.
The front butt doesn't have this issue because it only goes so far. You could also use eggs that are made of gelatin or ice and they'll dissolve/be absorbed so you won't have issues.
Just don't do jello shot eggs, that probably will be bad.
Or kinder eggs, the toy would hurt.
Or real eggs, your muscles are probably gonna do something and break them and that would hurt too.
(I had a gf and she thought oviposition was using real actual eggs because she had read a Hetalia fanfic and that's what they did)
