school teaches you you have to be working on like 10 projects with ridiculous deadlines all at the same time or else you're a failure. it doesn't teach you good time management. it teaches you to work on a ludicrous schedule with pressure that you would only get in a real job if something got seriously fucked up. it teaches you that you have to be working at all times with no breaks. And then people wonder why we all grew up to have executive disfunction
I want to add to this that after I left university, I realised I wasn't the lazy piece of shit I'd been told I was: I was able to get myself together by working on one thing at a time. I could not focus on multiple things at once. Turns out I knew how to work and manage my time after all! I was lied to
