I am once again psyching myself up to the idea that I could actually keep a day planner in 2023. I am soliciting opinions on:

  • day planners people like
  • techniques for actually keeping a planner

I am not very busy but I am even less organized

I think I might do like a retrospective day planner this year, where I write down what I did each day after the fact, just to keep track of the time. oh wait that's a journal

Plain quad-ruled notebook. Write out a page for each day. You can make checkboxes. You can do each page the night before, or a week at a time, or a month at a time depending on how unhinged you want to be

Depends on what you use it for. When I had a lot of appointments and meetings, I preferred a vertical planner like Quo Vadis' Minister. Now my work is primarily task based, so I use a regular lined notebook where I have one page for what I wanna do each week followed by what I wanna do each day. The plus being that I can look back and see what I did or didn't do last week or three Thursdays ago.
