Even though I'm rereading Mason & Dixon, I'm again dazzled by it, losing myself in its density of insight, humour, vocabularyโits attention and care wrt. history as well as its smirking anachronism.
It takes so much of me just to read and savour it; to write something like it is hard to imagine.
