The phrase "I think you should leave" is the non-answer to all of the alienated, stunted people inside of ITYSL characters, the petty monsters who no longer know how to be with others, that boil over and out in the few circumstances where they are trapped with other strangers—all manufactured get-togethers: TV shows, office lunches, boardrooms, hotel lobbies, school concerts—who exercise politeness and denial more successfully.

"Please, don't be this here and now." It's a plea and a threat; shut your hurt up or else.
