i love newspaper comics because they always have a sense of humor that could only come from a person whose career and livelihood are staked on writing one joke a day until they retire

there are people who can and do do this and it astounds me every time
if they're going to judge you, they don't really deserve your respect
my younger, meaner self's answer: ive never really been sure what cringe is but it probably is the things i did in highschool (hauling my books in a full frame backpacking pack, using a giant desk calendar for homework tracking) - if you're not hurting anyone or breaking any rules and they're uncomfortable, you have a great opportunity to force them to interrogate that feeling and man it's fun to watch them squirm
put another way: if what you're doing is in the right, then the people judging you are in the wrong, and you are allowed to be smug as shit
