Did they show it every weekday at 4pm on the Canadian equivalent of Comedy Central too?
I've seen it happen a few times with my high schoolers, but it's more in the Rocky Horror kind of like 'quirky kid' canon.
I was about to comment that if Monty Python jokes have survived, it would have to be by virtue of other, more recent works riffing on them.
That's spot on too. It's also still in the 80s parents primary toolkit too, you show em Star Wars and then it's a quick hop-jump to go well I gotta show them mel brooks and then monty python now too
I have the DVD special edition sitting on my shelf but I've also ordered the Flying Circus blu-rays imported from the UK so I'm an outlier. Monty Python Georg should not be counted.
They still exist but audience fragmentation means that the kid that was for sure gonna make it a whole thing is now equally likely to be into anime or french comics or hyperpop music or minecraft modding or whatever other thing is just way more accessible to a person these days.
good riddance tho if they go extinct monty python can get fuckeddddddd
