thinking about how when i started playing valkyria chronicles 4 and it introduced kai, i was like 'oh wow are they doing some gender stuff with this cool sniper? alright lets see if they stick the landing" and like 2 chapters later it winds up being framed as like a "big lie" and throughout the game kai just continues to be objectified as a woman business as usual
