I think cohost could make more money and greatly improve the quality of the website if (A) they open sourced all or part of their codebase (e.g. their front-end code) and (B) they only reviewed pull requests from people who were subscribers. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but lots of people would literally pay for the opportunity to improve cohost (by fixing glaring issues that the staff can't get to) without expecting anything in return. Plus it would make these contributors personally invested in the website so they're more likely to convert into evangelists/recruiters to cohost.
