it is very eminently not polyphonic though.

@covertneko and i had an interesting discussion about how polyphonic synthesizers deal with not becoming too loud when multiple notes are played, to which the answer is of course, ??? actually i want to know this

also our latency is unsatisfactory. i wonder why though; it might be buffers or something with sdl2.

hmm also the program makes a little bump noise when it starts, which doesn't make much sense but probably is worth fixing.

oh i'd love to know how you avoid volume issues with polyphony, my current toy project-that-mostly-incidentally-contains-a-synth currently just does "multiply all the samples by 0.2", which works fine when you only play at most 2-3 notes simultaneously, but feels like it's not a particularly correct fix
