It has come to my attention that it has been longer than 2 years since Justin Kuritzkes has uploaded to YouTube. He seem to be doing well for himself but in commemoration I will be reviewing his latest video: David's Reviews. The premise is simple. David reviews everything from dogs, to stools, to recording equipment, to video game consoles, to lotions, to candles, but his recent breakup with Christine has left him in disarray. David does not consider himself a complicated man. He is practical and dependable; knowledgeable enough to support his lifestyle through its dissemination. And these are not his only qualities. Thousands from across the globe learn from him, follow his advice, look up to him. He has built himself from years of practical experience. And yet, recent events have shown that Christine does not respect these qualities; rejects his worth as a partner. This falls out of the his realm of experience. He has shared many intimate moments with her. What he felt... cannot be described with words alone. And yet this is the situation in that he finds himself. The once strong, proud vessel that weathered life's storms has shattered in a moment; the resilience that bore him through the loss of his stable job and on to dazzling YouTube fame mercilessly crushed by fewer words than a termination letter. He is experiencing a grave and profound injustice, warranting reparation. That bitch, Christine, must be exposed. His plans change. For this week alone, he will break the command of his daily upload schedule. He will let the world know Christine's true face.

In under a minute, Justin lays the David's character through collective understanding of the audience and contrasts it against its own narrative framing, evoking powerful sympathy on behalf of David's perceived loss, and revealing deeper context. The strong bond they shared through David's termination transformed into a festering rift of YouTube obsession. If David had not been so preoccupied with growth and statistics, he may have noticed the fracturing of his relationship with Christine. He failed to recognise that Christine cared neither for his practicality or knowledge, but for the time they shared. This tragic tale of neglect, dismissal and denial ends poorly. Christine is torn down as the world looks on. The damage is done. We can only hope that David learns from this terrible and costly mistake.

David's Reviews is insightful, romantic, and powerfully vulnerable: a modern masterpiece. 10/10
