I saw a recommended video that was titled like "How to make disks" or w/e and I was like "OH COOL, someone is making new magnetic media at home because the old stuff is starting to literally disintegrate, I wonder how they do it"

I-it's not that, it's how to format disks,,, ick,

there is /no information/ on producing appropriate magnetic media for older systems and as it's no-longer being made, and the older stuff is literally turning to dust it's becoming more and more rare and you can't really use modern magnetic media because the coercivity of modern media is much higher so old equipment can't write it

This is also a problem with tape/disk heads, they're hard to find, and even harder to make
