So I just have 64 500GB SATA drives sitting on top of my dresser, a casual 32TB chilling in the corner.

I've also got a box of like 20 4TiB SAS drives on my sofa that I use as a footrest when flopped over.

And then another like 20-25 just strewn about various shelves.

Just catgirl things,

fair

say, you would appreciate this terrifying idea we had: a SAS reparallelizer — hypothetically, we can adapt the narrow parallel SCSI bus to modern signaling and, e.g., use a powerbook in target disk mode on a SAS controller, or plug our LTO-8 tape drive into our SE/30, right? it would be an incredibly bad idea, but aiui the CDBs are all still in baaaaasically the same format, yeah?
