i got a half-busted tube headphone amp from work, a Bravo Audio V1. the ehx 6922EH is obviously defective, or at the end of its life. it takes like 15-20 minutes for it to warm up enough for the right channel to not clip at moderate signal levels; one of the two triodes in the tube is near failure. i think i might scrape the red and blue LEDs off the PCB so that i can see the filament glowing.

using it like this only makes me stronger. making use of broken equipment salvaged from the trash makes me more powerful than people who buy brand new objects

On a slightly off-topic note, it makes me grumpy to no end people putting bright-ass LEDs under/near tubes and washing out the glow of the filament, why would anyone do that, the LEDs make it look objectively worse T~T
