so uh theoretical question. if you were to buy a good & safe dog collar, how would you go about doing that. can you just get a good one from amazon or do you actually have to go to a pet store or sth like that (which i really do not want to do because i would have to talk to people there) (asking for a friend of course)

(also, no, i the friend does not have a dog)

(and no, my aroace ass is not into pet play or anything, there is just puppy instead of brain)

also, a few questions on the topic of leashes: what do you usually do with a leash when you're just wearing it for comfort, do you just let it hang there or put the end in a pocket or how would you do that? also, do you attach it on the back or the front of your neck? and should i rather get a long or short one?

i let it hang from my wrist! holding my own leash :) it’s actually surprisingly comfortable (especially with a soft rope leash) and i usually forget it’s there after a few minutes

do you attach it on the back or the front of your neck?

usually front, but slide it around depending on where the holder is. if im in front of them then it might be on the back of my neck!

i think a standard 6 foot leash is good. a nice distance for most activities. i also have a short training tab (a 6-inch loop attached directly to the collar), which is nice because it’s light enough that i can wear it without holding it. the kind of medium option is a 1- or 2-foot traffic leash (these are a bit more common because they’re more useful for cis dogs)
