this is a dramatization with removed angle brackets so that it does not parse but the gist of it is:

cohost supports markdown, and its escape character is the backslash (\). so by writing \< you write <. and you can escape a \ with a \, so writing \\ becomes \ and \\\< becomes \< >:3
so yeah, write <div style="css-property: css-value">stuff here</div>
also, another trick that @HeySora mentioned: > and < work too: >w< becomes >w<. other HTML entities work too, and you can escape them by writing \<.
(also, you should escape >s, but it works without it too. escaping <s is mandatory)
