turns out ren'py collapses runs of whitespace into a single space
so not only is it eating all my double-spacing between sentences, but it's eating it so early that i can't even use the double-spaces to detect sentences, and i am gonna have to be real fuckin creative to fix it
i have successfully overridden a chunk of the lexer from within the language being lexed. you think i fear you? i grew up with perl. you will take my two spaces and you will like it
you can escape a space with \\ but like, i don't want to fucking do that for
i just want to type like i normally type and have the computer use the fucking text i typed!!
oh i was thinking like some kind of garbage preprocessor step but i'm curious to see how you solve it if/when you do
I am extremely pro double spaces between sentences so I share your frustration
thank you i feel like i'm from the bizarro universe every time i bring this up and someone necessarily tells me that double-spacing is pointless and provides the worst reasoning i have ever heard for anything
