this is a masterpiece. easily the best house map ever made. it is exactly the kind of thing i would aspire to make. jesus christ.

it is a staggering masterpiece, and yet at the same time, i feel like i've been waiting for this ever since gzdoom gained the necessary feature
and even better it's something that is fundamentally doom and could not exist apart from it
for sure, the way it plays with meta aspects of doom mapping is incredibly effective. it's just got so much going on and succeeds on so many different levels.
so, like, this dude's friend didn't actually die, right? the one picture he shared looks like a PS3 graphic, so I assume this is all some kind of meta-storytelling, right?
given some stuff you can find in the map, i'm skeptical, but i'm genuinely not sure either way, and the author hasn't posted anything on doomworld in the two weeks since he dropped this
I clicked through the links in the announcement post in the DoomWorld thread and there’s a whole GDrive, including a photo of an obituary clipping from a newspaper. So if it’s meta-storytelling it‘s very committed to the bit.

As this map grew beyond what I created, I suffered paranoia and insomnia. It consumed me. Don't let it consume you as well. Delete it. Do not credit me. Do not try and contact me. It doesn't take very much photoshop skills at all to make a picture of a real-looking newspaper clipping. I'd note it also uses the same weird fake cgi-looking face for its picture.
yeah i'm 95% sure there is no dead friend and it's all a (fun) bit. i have been surprised just about everyone seems to be taking the story as true (offering condolences and such), though of course that is kinder/safer if one is choosing to comment in the Myhouse thread.
