you know what's really annoying
a year or two ago, some chucklefucks made a knockoff bitcoin that was not only named after a floraverse species, but also used ash's art of that species. (a species based on our actual real life cats too, what the fuck man. (i am not naming them here lest you try to look the coin up.)) and all the flora stuff is CC licensed so this is technically okay but i personally find it highly obnoxious
especially because i was then told that some different chucklefucks decided this meant we were secretly shilling a cryptocurrency. you know. because shilling works best when you do it secretly. and secrecy works best when you reuse art from another, highly recognizable project.
anyway their griftcoin cratered immediately and sucks
but the truly agonizing part is that i had written a scene for alice's day off, a shameless smut vn, several years prior, absolutely completely ragging on bitcoin. the structure of the vn involved having a whole lot of relatively short routes, and so several of them had no sex at all, just something completely goofy happening, and this was one of those. krypto (a little bit of a weasel) and star anise (a cat from the moon who runs a shop where he sells actual garbage) team up to try to convince the player to switch from money to KITCOIN, which you know is good because it can only ever get better.
tragically we never finished the game, so this scene never saw the light of day
