css baby 4 is 100kb and also i'm pretty sure the entire contents of a post are included in every single notification, so my notifications tab is downloading several megabytes of json every few seconds that are assuredly just repeated copies of the same post lol
also i expanded the notifications down a ways to see stuff i missed overnight, and that seems to have... caused... each section to start trying to refresh itself independently?? which makes this happen even more frequently
man the more I see about how cohost is implemented the less surprised I am at how much money they're supposedly burning through
yeah in practice the bandwidth cost for this particular type of bug is probably not that bad at their scale compared to salaries, health insurance, etc
Ah, you're right, according to the most recent financial update they're spending around $30K/month (which makes sense for 3 employees each making $100K/year) and their previous update indicated that only around $9k of that is hosting expenses.
