I've heard of others run into this sorta complication after changing their gender on file for their doctors' clinic - things like being booked for ovarian cancer screening or something.

If I ever had that happen (if I updated things) I'm not sure how I'd feel.

yeah I had a doctor who had to keep on quashing the system's "overdue for a pap smear" warning, and like clockwork once every month I'd get the alarm again that I was very overdue for one

finally the doctor figured out he could put in a "done on 12/31/2099" and that stopped it Forever, then a few months later I had to change doctors anyway

one time I was doing the nurse pre-check for an annual physical and the nurse asked me, "Oh, this has you listed as trans. Do you still have your vagina?" and I was like, uh, 1) it doesn't work that way, and 2) it doesn't work that way

yeah after I stammered a bit she clarified that she was really just trying to be more inclusive while asking the “could you be pregnant?” question and I’m like… that’s… not how that works either

one time I was in the hospital with a blood clot and was told by the doctor to discontinue my estradiol (in the most frustrating way which implied I was just taking it "for funsies") and when I was complaining about that to the nurse I mentioned that I didn't want to go through menopause and her response was

"Absolutely, you're so young! You don't want to go through that before it's your time!"
