troublesome fox girl

hello i like to make video games and stuff and also have a good time on the computer. look @ my pinned for some of the video games and things. sometimes i am horny on @squishfox

i just don't get it. i don't get participating in thirty years of doom culture only made possible because it was open source, watching entire games be built upon it, and then just not fucking caring in the slightest when micro-fucking-soft pulls the rug out. i don't understand not finding any value in that. it feels so staggeringly short-sighted, not to even imagine the possibilities of the next thirty years that are being withheld. not being merely apathetic, but actively searching for reasons to shrug one's shoulders, to explain why it's too hard for poor microsoft to do or why it's fine and won't affect anything anyway

and i especially don't understand being a nightdive employee and going "i guess i'll just make stuff up at this annoying nerd until she gives up and leaves, then call her hostile when she has to repeatedly waste time explaining why i'm wrong lol"

I keep thinking of the Death Star Contractor bit from Clerks whenever one of the community members who worked on D+D2 replies.

It's extremely disappointing, but it's not worth your sanity trying to argue in that thread with people who don't want to listen. I don't really "get it" either but when you have people who've been on the forums for 10+ years talking about how adding a moderation system to the wad uploader would be bad because it means less content for consumers, it becomes obvious that the appeal of the whole openness of the Doom scene, for a lot of people, was entirely that they got a lot of free stuff.
