Hello again, Yamut!
It has only been a day after our parting of ways at Joppa, but I simply could not resist the urge to start writing. *Writing!* How exciting is that?! Back in the arcology we would have just used a screen-tablet or sent a message droid. I wish I could have found an ink pen, but these colorful crayons will have to suffice for now :)
Joppa is a... nice town. I have to admit, Yamut, this place is rather boring. Are all villages out here like this? The arcologies are filled with tons of people and things to do! It would take a lifetime to visit and explore the three of them. But what is there to do in Joppa? Sit and pet the ray cat?...
Well... that *is* pretty fun.
I received a QUEST, Yamut! I shared my water with a man called Mehmet, what was it you called it a... Water ritual! Mehmet told me to go north into some caves. Something is wrong with their watervine crop and they need help to find out what. I feel like an adventurer! A knight from one of my overseer's story-logs!!
I write to you from a makeshift camp north of Joppa, not too far from my destination. The stars are beautiful at night, there's *so* many. The domes of the arcology blocked out the stars... I feel vulnerable without the domes but after seeing the night sky I don't know if I could ever go back, Yamut.
As I was leaving Joppa I passed by their graveyard. Small monuments to honor the dead buried under the soil. It seems odd to me that the people here would bury their dead when the sky is so lovely.
