this isn't just me, right? on desktop, when i type a character in it, i have to wait for a second or two of lag before it actually appears on my screen, and if i don't wait for that to happen before i type the next character, it simply gets skipped. if i move my cursor elsewhere in the text box to make a correction after such an occurrence, every change i make moves the cursor back to the end of the field. and on mobile (Gboard + Chromium), spaces don't get inserted between swiped words.

since cohost is a website i looked up how to properly add text input to a webpage and the code for it seems to be <input type="text">, hope that helps

(i'd be using firefox instead, but chromium's the only browser with a javascript JIT on my unusual CPU architecture, solely by the grace of "IBM wanted to use Slack's Electron client on their workstations so they had one of their engineers upstream support for it in V8")

in reply to @lifning's post:

safari in general has known performance issues related to slow and undebuggable paints, but tag input is one of the few things that doesn't trigger it ime. i keep track of every time i try to solve it and how long it takes in a little text file: as of now we're at 20 cumulative hours. if you have leads then let me know i guess.
