C++ committee is low key panicking because organizations are starting to declare that new projects need to be written in "not C++", and this has resulted in things like Bjarne submitting papers to the C++ committee (a group I should note that has no way to actually sway the people making these decisions) saying "we don't need to worry about memory safety" and "I can't believe the NSA didn't ask us for our opinion on C++".
