i wrote up a really long post about a bunch of things that were bothering me about this specific article (and then deleted it) but i think the one that i'm still hung up on is the idea that japanese wrestling is for some reason "behind" american wrestling and that it needs to "catch up" like what are you talking about. what do you mean wwe and aew are "progressive" with how they handle their female talent while japanese promotions are negatively compartmentalized

also, one of the arguments they use is them misinterpreting what mutoh said in an interview lol. he didn't say he wants a noah women's division that is just like what the american companies are doing, he said that he wishes for japanese wrestling to become (and stay) popular on a global scale, and that he thinks women's wrestling is the key to that success (and i think his trust in women's wrestling shows in the fact that he decided to confer his kayfabe legacy onto sakuya). and he mentions that america doesn't have women's companies, which to me reads as a positive, that this makes the japanese wrestling scene unique and they should capitalize on it somehow

"but noah would have access to the tjpw roster" if people want to see tjpw wrestlers they should watch tjpw. how is that hard to understand. i don't think it was ever noah's intention to establish a permanent women's division anyway? like that's a weird assumption to make

"with the creation of an iwgp women’s championship—should there be a ghc women’s championship?" no. there should not be. sit down on your ass and start watching tjpw or senjo
