oil on canvas, 18x24 I think. Similar story to Eris, also sold for too little anonymously at ConJose. This is my depiction of the Bastard, in the family of gods in Lois Bujold's Five Gods Universe. The universe is a fantasy of effectiveness of gods, often in the form of miracles and saints. The Bastard is considered evil and reviled by one of the religions in this world, but in the Christianity-Analog is the source of luck, disaster, queerness and all else out of season or not in the purview of the other four. Modeled on a high school friend, this seems very much to predict my later tendencies to paint people I crushed on, by surprise until I learned it was rude. Again, poor quality from a slide scan, please help me find my lost art.
