2007: driven by academic theorist infatuation, I applied to a half dozen MFA art programs and only got into the one for doing what I already knew how to do, representational oil painting. But I did level up quite a lot at it, starting with pushing for the absolute greatest range of colors possible with limited palettes of 2 earth tones and white.
