Mainly using this to chost a #retrospective of my artwork from the last uh 3 decades. Occasionally new art and rechosts. Pretend I put some fun gifs here.
2009, oil on linen, 6x5'.
Because of the kind of school it was, this qualifies more as My Master's Thesis than the written thing. This was a generative process - the overall structure is colliding galaxies, with figures found in its abstraction (signal-noise-signal). Then there are those jpg-compression-mimic blocks over various parts I didn't like. It's mainly about a relationship. The title is Latin for "Truth Makes Hatred".
This painting has been through a lot. My terrible roommate slashed it first on his attack on 14 of my paintings and it was the one he assaulted my friend over. I had it professionally restored and that friend now owns it. I also threw another painting at it about a breakup but that's a more consensual part of its history.
2009 oil on canvas 32x28in
One of the most elegant deterrations: same pose, one in each direction, different evasions of the face, positions found by pareidolia in a nebula, plus some robotic invention. I think I had mentally cast this model, Desiree, as Joelle from Infinite Jest so "too beautiful to behold". The title is either a sentence or a phrase with different meanings depending on whether each word is a noun, verb, or adjective.
2008 oil on canvas 3x4ft.
RIP Christophe the model and my boy Bruno Latour.
This painting only still exists underneath a 2018 self portrait.
