netfront was very picky about what would count as a file that you could download
Fun fact: If an artist uses Squarespace for their website, you can often download the songs directly. I've run into this many times with smaller artists and generally inform them because they are smaller artists. Some fixed it and some haven't, but yeah, the default Squarespace player or plugin everyone uses hosts the file directly on the page.
