forever thinking about Sam Lake’s casting in Alan Wake 2

SAM LAKE AS:

  • the actor Sam Lake
    • who is playing the fictional detective Alex Casey
  • FBI agent Alex Casey, who is a different guy from the fictional detective Alex Casey despite them having the same name and looking identical

fictional detective Alex Casey and FBI Agent Alex Casey are both voiced by James McCaffrey but Sam Lake is voiced by Sam Lake. does this all make sense

My headcanon is that Alex Casey the FBI agent and Alex Casey the book character both sound like James McCaffrey, but Alex Casey in the movies is played entirely by Sam Lake (the actor) and sounds like Sam Lake (the game director). This is one reason why Alan Wake hates the adaptations of his work.

Alex Casey is also verrrry similar to Max Payne (the character) from Max Payne (the Remedy game written by Sam Lake) and who is modeled by Sam Lake and voiced by James McCaffrey.

Not sure if you’ve played Control but if you don’t already know, you are in for QUITE A SURPRISE when you look up who voices Alan Wake.
