a fun side-effect of this being an unofficial mod is that none of the characters comment on any of the other characters being animals, which adds to the flavor of this just being a thing that people can do with their bodies.

weird to think that if we ever even make it to the fucked up cyberpunk future there WILL be furries there as soon as it is scientifically feasible
Honestly, even if biomodding never gets to that point, there's a lot of extremely promising stuff regarding "top-down" VR integration (the sense of inhabitating your avatar being derived from it's responsiveness to your motions.) It's kind of fucking wild. Turns out we don't necessarily need all that "bottom-up" neural integration to get our nervous system to act like it's shaped differently.
In VR labs with way more sophisticated setups than consumer-grade VR, they've seen people able to almost entirely reconfigure their internal map of their body in like the span of an hour to control avatars with completely nonhuman morphology like a lobster. On top of that, doing experiments similar to the "hammer smashing a fake hand" trick seems to indicate that people in general really do seem to feel like their tail or extra limbs or wings "belong" to them and feel protective of them instinctively once they get so attuned with it.
So who knows, maybe at least a semblance of the experience is within our reach.
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/9797 is the core mod, and https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11448?tab=description will update it to the most current version. The mod doesn't update EVERYONE to anthros, but there are options for various characters to be swapped out, as well as a file that adds random anthros to be mixed in with the otherwise human random NPC population.
And yeah, Judy does look awesome like that!
exotic sculpts are actually a thing in cyberpunk lore, the 2077 devs are just cowards
... I mean yea, furries/furry-bodymoding have been in cyberpunk since the original publishing, they're called 'exotics', and they were put in because it made the creator's friend mad
I had started playing Cyberpunk a couple weeks ago and through your posts found out about this mod and whoa it makes the game much more playable.
