studentaid.gov makes you wait 3 days after making an account before you can actually do anything like apply for the SAVE program. Maybe younger folks who did their fafsa through this website already have accounts, but i did my fafsa in 2010 and studentaid.gov did not exist afaik. this was a real bummer when i went through all the trouble of finally sitting down to apply for the student loan thing, only to find out i couldnt actually start it and would have to remember to come back to it days later
Also the website is jank as fuck. idk if its weighed down with an unhinged amount of javascript or what, but my very normal 2 year old laptop absolutely chugs trying to load every page. and sometimes it just stops working. like right now i was writing this post on my phone while waiting for the IDR page to load on my laptop, but the Apply button isnt working for some reason so i have to reload the page, which again, is agonizingly slow.
