did some more arranging today so that was nice. Last semester the Pride Chorus didnt vote for my arrangement of "Graceland, Too" by Phoebe Bridgers, so I am going for more of a crowd-pleaser with "Closer" by Tegan and Sara. I found some other choruses on YouTube who've arranged it for a capella, but I am picky and I dont like them that much so I'm trying to make my own. I generally am not a fan of mainstream a capella arrangements that focus heavily on a soloist and don't have anything interesting or fun for most of the chorus. Like, I recognize that those are the genre conventions, but I just think we all have a better time when more of us get to sing like, actual words and harmonies, and not just doo doo doo aaaah for 80 measures. My focus is on wanting to create a fun experience for the performers first, and the audience is secondary to that.

I do think it needs some kind of beatbox or percussion and I haven't the foggiest idea how to actually write that
