ok but forreal i fundementally do not understand how creating rhythms in piano composition like, works. Piano has so many strong archetypes (idk what else to call it), not just genres but specific formations used within each genre that are immediately recognizable to my ear, that feel like they must have rules and formulas that people who know what they're doing can draw from. shortcuts. but i dont know any of them and I dont even know what words to search to find it.

I listen to, for instance, "She Keeps Me Warm" by Mary Lambert, and I can hear the piano doing something that seems simple and archetypical (like I feel like many songs' piano parts are using the same forms), but I can neither imagine in my mind what that looks like on the piano, nor translate it to sheet music. I play acoustic guitar, and I implicitly understand, and kind of always have since I picked up a guitar, how to create or perform Rhythm Guitar to accompany singing a rock or folk song. I can just pick up an acoustic guitar and cover "She Keeps Me Warm" basically without thinking about it. I know how to make those rhythms or something similar happen on guitar basically by feel. For "American Teenager", I can hear the piano part I want in my head, its one of those archetypes i know i've heard many times before, but I can't easily translate the sounds to actions the way i can with guitar. Maybe if my keyboard weren't broken I could fiddle around with the chords and figure it out, but as it is i'm kind of stuck
