no signal at all at the campsite last night, so i'm making this post while we wait for the ferry back to the island. not a particularly remarkable stretch yesterday, though it was very pretty especially as we got into the okanagan and the rain let up a bit.
we're almost home and i'm very excited for the 7 hours of sleep i'll be able to get before i have to go to work immediately afterward. should've scheduled a bit more time off probably
back into the mountains today
i think it'd be hard to communicate the sheer scale of these landscapes even if i wasn't doing point-and-shoot with a mediocre cameraphone from a moving vehicle. the mountains are massive and the spaces between are even more vast. i feel truly small out here
we're camped outside of the town of jasper for the night. it's supposed to get pretty cold tonight and we're not really well-equipped for it (at least, i'm not. my sleeping bag is rated for lower temperatures than we're getting but that doesn't mean it's comfortable at 3°C) so i hope that all goes ok. only two more long days of driving to go after this
