Just seen it's my 7 year anniversary of being diagnosed with BPD! I have so many conflicting thoughts on this label. On one hand it's a scam, like all Personality Disorders are. It's C-PTSD in neurodiverse people retconned as a "Womanitis" invented to deny vunrable people any medical care what so ever, distorted even further to sell books about how you can't trust them r-slurs! The fact that people still cling onto to BPD as a label is wild
....or is it? Ironically in this era of people understanding Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria in ADHD, BPD's most infamous aspect (least in my experience!), does keeping the label ironically seem more attractive? Like as a reminder: "You accept us now, but not even a few years ago, you did not." Or for people who even in a more empathetic climate are still demonised for how their RSD manifests. I dunnnnooooo. It's compllliiccaatteedd. I don't want people to forget how fucking bad they used to and still do treat us and assimilating our history completly to the ADHD canon as it were, feels like we're losing summant. Does that make sense? Or is this absolute rambling? Lmao
