in a lot of scifi you have a bunch of humans and one or two weird aliens and everybody's always like, haha mr spock you're so strange in this context, not everything has to be logical with us humans!
farscape is great because they take the most normie ass dude and stick him with a bunch of aliens who have never even heard of earth and every time he says something like "toto, i don't think we're in kansas anymore" everyone goes SHUT THE FUCK UP JOHN NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT and over the course of the show his innate compulsion to make basic cultural references that never land drives him insane
It's like going on holiday with a group of Germans.
