AKA graham aker's HG Brave Commander Type with some ~Extraterrestrial Pizzazz~
surprise: it's a custom build with a custom name! the ELS, short for Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shapeshifters (though...shouldn't that make them the ELMS?) are by far my favorite part of the gundam 00 movie, a wakening of the trailblazer. who woulda thunk that the one gundam series that takes place in the closest timeline to our own (apart from maybe Build Fighters) would be the one with grey goo aliens? a wakening is a pretty divisive addition to gundam canon - and rightfully so, imo - but i've always adored the sci-fi horror aspect of the ELS. it's a fun way to up the stakes on 00's themes of dialogue fostering peace. you wanna talk things out from now on, Protagonists? that's great! try talking it out with The Sludge.
the final shot of the film is an albert einstein quote. Anyway.
what you're (presumably) REALLY here for is the custom arm that makes this the ELS Brave, not just the Brave! the spikes were made by cutting up a spare beam dagger blade from one of my metal build figurines, attaching it to the elbow with gorilla glue, and then painting the whole arm in tamiya silver leaf spray, with a silver gundam marker used for the detailing on the chest and shoulder. EXCEEDINGLY pleased with the results! i hope to use this same trick again on another kit someday.
as for the build experience: this is a 14-year-old grunt kit based on a 17-year-old grunt kit with a sheet full of color-correcting stickers and no polycaps.
...let's just say i don't wanna talk about it.
