wouldn't you know it, it's this guy! you may or may not know this guy! i sure didn't! this lovely pearly knight from...some variety of super robot wars, i think (which i know very little about, but i consider it a dear cousin on my gundam's side) made for an absolutely excellent build tonight. a quick one, too: i wanted to let that gorgeous pearlescent plastic shine as much as possible, so i barely panel lined it at all. total time from box to posed-on-shelf was about four hours.
at $49, the cybaster's on the pricier end for a high grade, but between the fuckmassive silhouette, great color separation, gorgeous colors, that good new-fashioned modern polycapless plastic engineering, AND the fact that it comes with a free action base plus three(!!!) little effect parts stands in the box, i'd say it's well worth it. i love it when giant robots are also giant knights. i love Big Cool Swords. what else is there to say, really.
oh, actually, here's what else there is to say: this kit also has a transformation gimmick that i think involves the tail somehow...? can't remember how that would've worked. i did not touch it at all whatsoever because the final result would've looked considerably uglier than the regular mobile suit form. happens to the best of us.
